Digital signage

The difference from a printed notice is not the screen, it is what happens afterwards. A printed menu is wrong, or covered over, from the first price change. A display shows the new state the same day — and a different offer in the evening from the one at lunchtime.

We plan, install and set up digital signage across Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: single advertising displays, menu boards for hospitality, shop window solutions and several screens working together. Where wanted, we design the content that runs on them as well.

Options and variants

  • Digital advertising displays – A professional display for changing content, built for continuous operation rather than occasional television.

  • Digital menu boards – Menu, prices and offers above the counter, with daily specials and promotions that can change by time of day.

  • Shop window displays – Behind glass, sufficient brightness is what matters; which device fits depends on the actual location and the sunlight it takes.

  • Video walls – Several displays working as one continuous surface.

  • LED walls – Large, bright LED surfaces where a display area is not enough.

  • Screen mounts – Matched to the place and the device, for wall, ceiling or free-standing.

  • Content production – Designing what runs: layout, imagery, animation, matched to your identity.

  • Central content management – Maintain content in one place and update several displays together. Depending on the project we also use self-hosted solutions for this.

Planning and design

First the location is settled: where does the screen hang, from what distance is it read, how bright is it there, and how long does somebody stand in front of it? Reading distance gives the display size, ambient brightness gives the brightness the device needs, dwell time gives the length of the content. A screen at the queue can show more than one people walk past.

Then there is the question of who maintains the content afterwards, and how often. That decides whether one screen is enough or whether several displays should be managed centrally — and how the templates have to be built so that a price change takes a minute rather than an afternoon.

Production

Production means two things here. First, choosing and assembling the technology: professional displays for continuous operation, matching mounts and the playback of content, suited to the location and the use. Where several screens are to run together, we set up central content management — depending on the project as a self-hosted solution.

Second, the content itself. We design layouts, images and video for the screens — in a visual language that matches the rest of your identity, and in a structure that can be updated later without design work. For hospitality that usually means fixed templates for menu and prices, with interchangeable areas for daily offers.

Installation

We mount the displays, run power and signal as agreed, and set the system up until the content is running. Cable routing is not a detail here: a neatly mounted screen with a visible cable run looks temporary.

At handover we show how content is changed. The aim is that your team can update prices, menus and offers themselves, without ringing us to do it.

Typical applications

  • Hospitality – The strongest case: menu and prices above the counter, a different offer at lunchtime from the evening, photographs of the dishes instead of plain lists. Price changes cost no reprint.

  • Retail floors – Promotions and offers at the shelf or the till, changing by day or season.

  • Shop windows – Visible outside opening hours too, provided the display suits the light conditions there.

  • Reception and waiting areas – Welcome, orientation and information at a point where people are waiting anyway.

  • Several rooms or sites – Where the same thing should show in different places without swapping something out at each one.

In hospitality we often combine digital signage with printed menus and illuminated signage on the facade — digital indoors, printed at the table, lit at the street.

Why OSTSEE Werbeagentur

It starts with a conversation about the location, the budget and what the sign actually has to do. That becomes a design you see before anything goes into production. We build to that design — and we fit it ourselves, rather than handing it to someone who never saw it.

Because all four steps happen in house, there is no point where responsibility changes hands. If something needs adjusting, you ring one number.

Illuminated Letters & Digital Menu Boards for Ganesha Taste of India

For the Indian restaurant Ganesha Taste of India we produced bespoke 3D illuminated letters and fitted them on site. We also installed digital screens and presented the menu on them in a clean, contemporary design. The result: outdoor signage that stands out and a digital menu that keeps working day and night.

Frequently asked questions

Can menus and prices be changed later by us?

Yes, that is the whole point. We build the templates so that text and prices can be swapped without anyone having to design — and we show you how at handover.

Is digital signage suitable for restaurants?

Particularly there. Daily specials, changing prices, offers at set times and photographs of the dishes can all be handled digitally, without printing a new menu each time.

Can several displays be used?

Yes — side by side as one continuous menu board, as a video wall, or spread across several rooms. Content can be managed centrally, so one change takes effect on every screen.

Can the content be controlled centrally?

Yes. Depending on the project we set up central content management, from which you maintain menus, prices and promotions for every connected display — as a self-hosted solution where wanted, so the content stays in your hands.

Do you design the on-screen content as well?

Yes. Layout, imagery and animation are part of the job. We design so the content matches the rest of your identity and stays easy to update later.

Do you handle installation and setup?

Yes. Mounting, brackets, connection and setup through to running operation are included, along with a handover for your team.

Does a screen work in a shop window?

Yes, provided the device suits the light conditions — behind glass and in sunlight, considerably more brightness is needed than indoors. Which display fits your location we settle beforehand from the orientation of the window.

What does digital signage cost?

That depends on the number and size of the displays, the mounts, the installation work, the playback hardware and how much content design is involved. Tell us where the screens should hang and what should run on them, and we will price the project.
